The material is fed into the impact crusher, which has a rotor turning at high speed. This accelerates the material so that it is thrown against fixed impact or adjustment plates. After this impact it returns to the rotor circuit to be crushed or struck again by the blow bars, and so on until it passes between the rotor and the impact plates because its size has been reduced.
We can therefore say that the crushing itself takes place when the rock comes into contact between the blow bars and the impact plates, and even when the stones themselves collide with each other.
