How to identify a wear part to request a quote

To confirm the fit and alloy of a part, we need to know which machine it goes in, which part it is and what duty it works in. These are the details that settle it, from the quickest to the one that takes most work.

  1. The machine nameplate

The make, model and serial number of the crusher, mill or pump are on its nameplate. A photo of the nameplate is the first thing to send: it lets us identify the exact model.

  2. The part number or drawing

The original manufacturer's part number, often marked on the part itself, or a dimensioned drawing is the quickest way to confirm the dimensions. If you have your own drawings or drawings from a previous supplier, send them to us.

  3. No part number or drawing: photos and dimensions

Send us photos of the nameplate and the worn part, with any dimensions you can measure. Depending on the part, these are the ones that help most:

    • Jaw plates (jaw dies): length, width, thickness, holes and tooth pitch, and the tooth profile fitted.
    • Blow bars: length, width, height and holes, the rotor series and how many bars the rotor carries.
    • Hammers and grates: the dimensions of the hammer or grate and the number of hammers per rotor.
    • Mantles and concaves: the chamber type (coarse, medium, fine or extra fine) and, on a gyratory, the tier and position of each segment.
    • VSI rotor tips: the rotor configuration and the operating mode (rock-on-rock or rock-on-anvil).
    • Mill parts: the manufacturer's drawing number or, if there is none, the dimensions of the current parts; for segments, inner and outer radius, thickness and hole spacing.
  4. The operating conditions of the part

So that we can recommend the alloy: the material processed and whether it may contain metal or scrap, the feed size, the throughput, the alloy currently fitted and how long it lasts.

  5. Quantity and date

How many parts you need and by when. We reply within 24/48 hours if the enquiry is complete.

  6. Discontinued machine or part without a drawing

We start from the used part, which we digitise with 3D laser scanners, and from the machine data. If the application calls for it, we adapt the design.
